Pricing
Moxie is offering tiered equity pricing for some Ouray Ice Fest clinics. We will publish four different prices and then ask you to “pay what you should”. That may mean paying more for your time with Moxie so that someone who otherwise couldn’t afford it can be there too. Moxie has made two spaces available at each payment tier for each clinic. Please choose an option that best represents your financial capacity based on the prompts below:
Tier 1: $179 (2 spaces)
I struggle to pay rent
I struggle to afford groceries
I use an EBT/SNAP card
I am an immigrant/first generation
I am unemployed, not by choice
Multiple people are dependent on my income
Tier 2: $299 (2 spaces)
This expense doesn’t jeopardize my ability to meet my basic needs
This amount will cause me to weigh between this and other discretionary spending as I choose how to spend my limited income and savings (eating out, outdoor gear, concerts, etc.)
Tier 3: $399 (2 spaces)
I am sufficiently financially secure to pay this amount
It does not jeopardize my ability to meet my basic needs
It does not significantly limit my activities and purchases
I may have to account for this spending, but I can afford to so another climber can participate

Tier 4: $499 (2 spaces)
I can pay this or more with relative ease
I have freedom when it comes to choosing how I spend my money
I rarely have to consider the price tag on something that I want, besides big ticket items
I am in a position to be generous with my money and support another climber

**Moxie understands that the playing field isn’t level for all peoples, and that some consistently face an uphill battle. Historically the Ouray Ice Fest has lacked representation from all peoples. Moxie and ALL IN believe that everyone should have access to high-end technical instruction and guiding.**
What’s Included in my clinic fee?
INCLUDED
Instruction from a guide working within the AMGA Scope of Practice
Ability to borrow technical equipment (ice tools, crampons, helmet and harness)
$40 per person contribution to the Ouray Ice Park
Rent paid to the Indigenous peoples $10 per person contribution to the Boys and Girls Club of the Southern Ute
NOT INCLUDED
Travel to and from southwest Colorado
Ice climbing boots- available to rent @ Ouray Mountain Sports
Personal clothing and equipment per our equipment list- including boots (Just ask if there is gear you need that will induce undue financial hardship)
A gear card to demo gear at the Ouray Ice Fest (Jan 23-25, 2026)
Accommodations in Colorado
Travel and/or rescue insurance is highly recommended
Customary guide gratuity
Costs incurred due to evacuation or unplanned departure from the area due to illness or other problems
Costs incurred as a result of delays beyond the control of Moxie
Costs as a result of force majeure
Refund Policy
Please note that Moxie will not offer refunds for Ouray Ice Festival Clinics. Should you need to cancel your clinic registration, please reach out via email. In the event you are not able to attend, we will try our hardest to re-sell your clinic spot so that it can be filled by another interested participant. You will need to check back in with us after the fest to determine if we were able to fill your spot. If we are able to fill your spot, a voucher towards a future Moxie trip (less a 20% re-booking fee) may be issued.
Additional clinics at the Ouray Ice Fest are offered by Basecamp Ouray, Cirque Guides, Mountain Trip, San Juan Mountain Guides, and Skyward Mountaineering.
Acknowledgment & Assumption of RISK AND RELEASE & Indemnity Agreement
All participants are required to sign Moxie’s form prior to participating in this course.
