  • Ouray’s world-famous Ouray Ice Park offers a huge variety of terrain that’s well suited for climbers of all levels. Whether you’re swinging tools for the first time on a visit to Telluride or Ouray, or refining steep ice technique, your day will be fully customized to meet your goals. Depending on your experience and interests, we can focus on topics such as movement skills, top-rope and lead belaying, ice screw placement and anchor building, multi-pitch systems, or the mental game of ice climbing.

    Give ice climbing a whirl or build your skill set for single or multi-pitch ice climbs in Silverton, Telluride, Alaska, and beyond. An IFMGA Mountain Guide will tailor the day to suit you or your crew. All abilities, ages, body sizes, and fitness levels are welcome.

    • Guided ice climbing by IFMGA Mountain Guides

    • Customizable guest to guide ratio 

    • Climbing harness, helmet, ice tools, crampons

    • Group climbing equipment (ropes, anchor material, ice protection)

    • OIP user fees

    • $10/pp of rent paid to the Boys and Girls Club of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe

    Not Included

    • Personal snacks/food

    • Personal climbing clothing and equipment per the equipment list

    • Ice Climbing Boots (rent locally at Ouray Mountain Sports)

    • Travel and rescue insurance (highly recommended!)

    • Lodging in Colorado

    • Transportation to/from/in Colorado

    • Customary guide gratuity

    • Ouray Ice Park Membership (encouraged to support the OIP and required to gain early entry to the park)

Whether it’s your first multi-pitch, a classic climb, or you're looking to refine your systems, come climb iconic Silverton ice routes with an expert guide.

Whether you're looking to tackle your first multi-pitch climb or refine movement, transitions, and technical systems on big terrain, this day is designed around your goals.
