Come take a break from Telluride or Purgatory and enjoy a day off-piste. This ski or splitboard in the Ouray or Silverton area is perfect for individuals or small groups. A custom day offers the freedom to focus on what matters most to you.

Explore the remote beauty of the San Juan Mountains from the comfort of a backcountry hut. These multi-day ski and splitboard adventures are a combo of full days of guided touring with evenings spent sharing meals, drying gear by the fire, and good company in stunning alpine settings.
We’ll work with you to build a custom trip that fits your group’s goals, pace, and experience level. Pending conditions, ski options range from mellow powder laps to steep couloirs and alpine objectives. Our basecamps include some of the Telluride, Ouray, and Silverton area’s most beloved huts, such as the Addie S Hut, Artist’s Cabin, OPUS Hut, Campfire Ranch, and other hidden gems throughout the northern San Juans.

The San Juan Mountains boast steep descents, airy ridgelines, big objectives, and alpine adventures. Whether you’re looking to climb and ski a classic couloir, tag a summit, or sharpen the skills needed for your own technical ski mountaineering, Moxie will tailor the day to your goals and comfort level.
Areas of mentorship can include topics such as: steep skinning techniques, booting, crampon and ice axe use, rope systems and rappeling, movement in technical terrain, route planning, and managing long days in the mountains. This day is ideal for those looking to take their touring experience further, both literally and technically.

Rocky Mountain National Park is home to some of Colorado’s most sought-after ski descents. Jump into steep couloirs, ski big alpine faces, and climb technical summits that deliver unforgettable days in the mountains. Join Moxie during our favorite time of year on a guided ski mountaineering day!
Pending conditions we can ski classic lines like Dragontail Couloir, Corral Couloir, and the Y Couloir and more. Along the way, your guide will help refine movement on steep snow, transitions, and terrain management in real-time as you climb and ski these iconic routes.
